Dispute Resolution
Legal assistance in dispute resolution is one of my main areas of professional activity. The topic of my doctoral dissertation was also closely related to dispute resolution andon behalf of a client, I have appealed to the European Court of Human Rights. I have represented clients in the European Court of Justice both in written and oral proceedings.
Competition law
Competition law is often considered as one of the most complex fields of law. An attorney who works in this field must also delve into issues related to economy and the business environment. Also the content of the competition law itself consists not only of concisely formulated laws and regulations, but also extensive guidelines as well as practice materials.
Contract and tort law
A significant part of my professional and academic activity is related to contract and tort law issues. It includes consultations regarding interpretation of the contracts and also regarding other legal issues stemming from contracts, as well as consulting on risks which can occur within certain situations of tort liability.
Commercial law
Commercial law consists of wide range of issues that are relevant to a considerable number of people – both the merchants themselves, their members, board and council members, and business partners of the merchants.
Intellectual property law
In addition to being an attorney-at-law, since 2011 I have also been a professional patent attorney in trademark cases in Europe and Latvia. I advise and represent clients in trademark registration and objection procedures. I also represent clients in court in cases of trademark disputes, as well as possible unauthorized use.
Legal opinions
In more complex legal issues, it is often essential to receive an independent assessment, which either allows you to make sure of the correctness of the existing position, or indicates aspects that would be useful to review, also providing recommendations for another, possibly more legally justified, position.
