Lauris Rasnačs

I am an attorney-at-law with fifteen years of experience in the fields of dispute resolution, competition law, commercial law and intellectual property law, representing clients in Latvian and European courts, as well as Latvian and European Union institutions. I have provided legal opinions both for the prevention of various possible risks and also for the situation that has already arisen. I provide assistance to clients in Latvian, English, German and Russian languages.

I am a doctor of law and an assistant professor at the University of Latvia, as well as the co-author of several books and the author of many articles on the issues of civil procedure, arbitration procedure, competition law, non-contractual (tort) liability, commercial law and intellectual property law. My scientific works have been published in Latvia, the Netherlands and Italy.

I have been a person invited by the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Latvia to provide an opinion in several cases, as well as a member of the Advisory Council of the Register of Enterprises of the Republic of Latvia.

My hobbies are history, literature and sports.

From 2011 to 2019 – representation of clients in the Competition Council, European Commission and court, as well as providing legal assistance in several cases regarding alleged agreements that hinder, limit or distort competition;

From 2012 to 2018 – representation of clients in court in several cases regarding challenges of decisions of meetings of the members of limited liability companies and the exclusion of members from the companies;

From 2007 until now – representation of clients in court in several cases regarding compensation for damages caused as a result of competition law violations;

From 2017 until now – representation of clients in court in several cases on trade secret and trademark issues.
